Time will only tell on Pretty Little Liars, but Tyler Blackburn has joined the cast as Caleb. Honestly, he looks as if he'd fit right in perfectly with the 'pack in the Twilight movies. But Tyler hasn't made it to those kind of movies yet. But hopefully, being the scene stealer he is, you never know.
His Caleb might hook up with any of the Little Liars, although, that might be doubtful. Possibly, just another red herring to the mystery. Although, I'd really like to see him befriend Tobey...the other bad boy on the show. No telling, what kind of trouble they could get into.
The facts about Tyler.
1. Born Oct.12, 1986 2.Last seen as Ian on soap opera Days of our Lives 3.Played Echo on Gigantic 4.Will be in Peach Plum Pear where he's Jesse a troubled youth stranded in a rural Nebraska town. The film is directed by Alana Morshead
I've been wanting to blog about it for a while. Then I'll move on to something else. On an episode of Parenthood (Mae Whitman is on the show). Her character's father was a musician, but she and her brother and mother have moved in with the grandparents. Now, she has decided to give music a try. Just at a local coffeehouse. Mae really does have a special voice. She's well seasoned in that area from not only acting, but her mother, Pat Musick is a voice artist and had done many voices over the years in television.
On an episode of Parenthood in last late November was her duet with Landon Pigg. She has an amazing voice. They sound so good together it just makes you want them to be together. Perhaps its best they just make duets. Landon does other duets with artists.
Sofia Black-D'lia who plays Tea might be the most seasoned actress of the bunch. Before landing the role on Skins she was seen as Bailey on ALL MY CHILDREN.
Granted, her Tea can come off rather harsh. Yet, as a the cheerleader lesbian, she knows what she wants and she knows how to get it. And Audrey Hepburn is her icon.
What they are like in real life working on the show. Just harmless teens.
It seems Bryan Elsley and his writing team are having some fun with their own fiction of SKINS. So, they've taken their UK fan fic and spun it around to show the working class kid, maybe. In the orginal you had the different geometry of characters. A triangle twice. I guess. Tony/Michelle/Sid or to some Tony/Maxxie/Michelle.
Tony's old tricks.
In this version by the second episode we've leaped into Tea's life (oh, she might be a mafia princess too) who gets it on, finds what she wants and well, it ends with 'scardy-cat' which I thought was brilliant using that one word fo 'relationships' issues. One meaning sex. The other being romance. And then lets add Tony to spice it up. So as we have it now Tony/Michelle/Tea.
By the end of the second episode we hear Tony say to to Tea over the phone.."I matched you." Granted, do we talk that way? Does it even matter. This is SKINS.
And while some were busy remembering that hot sexy scene with Tea and another girl (thinking it rated right up there with the Black Swan girl on girl scene). On the stairs, in the hallway. God, would they ever find a bed? And to think how the household was so bold and loud the following morning at Tea's house. But..the... really important part of the episode was finding out where Tea came from. A house full of kids and grandmother who talked but no one listened. She's in another world with her dementia. Its those poignant moments with her Nana that we find the importance of being. Really. This is where the beauty of the show came in. As well and Tea's awkward yet lovely steps of dance that make her feel alive. It was such tender moment. I really think this show is much more than we will ever know.
This band started out in Baltimore in 2000. Its referred to as an experimental band. They are now based out of New York City. Animal Collective consists of Avey Tare (David Portner), Panda Bear (Noah Lennox), Deakin (Josh Dibb), and Geologist (Brian Weitz).
I loved their MY GIRLS in the opening scene of MTV's SKINS so I had to find out more about them. Perhaps being on the show's playlist will gather more growing interest. They have put together 8 recordings of their magical talents in the past decade. Their latest CD is Merriweather Post Pavilion. Its their longest recording since their debut. While putting this CD together, the group went about writing a new batch of songs to be played without guitar. Another unique thing the group did was set up its PA systems in the control room in an attempt to replicate the group's live sound. Really, they do offer an very tranquil yet monumental melody from their quirky ways of going about to find their sound.
storyline: things don't work out with Jones. Lux finds out Sam is her brother who lives with Stan.
Well, I'm a sucker for fan fic. And yes, like Holly, I was said to see Life Unexpected go. It was a happy wrap up. I guess.
Anyway, she got a hankering for Daniel Lafferty's character Stan on SKINS. Even if SKINS does bare all, she did become a fan of Stan and Caity. But she hated to see it end with Sam and Lux on Life Unexpected. By the way she told me the actress who plays Lux (Brittney Robertson) is in CHERRY with Kyle Gallener. And Indie film where he's a college student caught in a love triangle between the mother and daughter. And Brittney is the daughter.
Anyway. Here is a cross over fan fiction between American version SKINS and LIFE UNEXPECTED. But who knows might show up if Holly has anything to do with it.
Paola Turbay has joined the cast of the HBO series TRUE BLOOD for their upcoming season! She has recently appeared on THE SECRET LIFE OF THE AMERICAN TEENAGER, ROYAL PAINS, and THE MENTALIST. Stay tuned for further details!!
Oh..so short lived on LIFE UNEXPECTED, but really Landon Liborion did a great character as Sam on the show. He was a little Emo. Kind of wild, but always had good judgment even if his character did try to blackmail Lux. To bad..she went with Jones (Austin Butler) in the end (the big happy ending finale). The show was canceled.
True the show had its holes. In reality..the couple would have barely been old enough to conceive a child they put up for adoption. Lux. Who comes back to find then. They were two brunettes who had a blond child. That was it in a nutshell. Mix in a lot of bickering and family drama with some cool tunes and lots of bad hair day hats..for Lux...well, there you have it. Kind of.
Anyway, it was great to see Landon in something ..aside from his Declan on Degrassi who wasn't quite the sociopath he could have been. He can do mischief well, if given half a chance. Hopefully, he'll be in Terra Nova..if it gets picked up.
Terra Nova : Centers on the Shannons, an ordinary family from 2149 when the planet is dying who are transported back 85 million years to prehistoric Earth where they join Terra Nova, a colony of humans with a second chance to build a civilization.
I'm just not sure if it'll be shown in the states or Canada or Australia. Well, hopefully, the source is right..Fox has planted the series on dreaded Friday nights..so I dunno if it'll stick around long. Hopefully, it'll be a winner.
I have mixed feeling about the show. For starters, the first episode was much like the orginal with a few changes. The big one..NO MAXXIE. And I'm not sure if this female version just isn't the lesbian from hell. Which is quite a shame. I can think of better lesbian storylines.
But it is SKINS...so you can expect the crass, the unstable and undoubtedly can come off as being a nuisance.
The only bright shining stars..other than the music is Stanly (Daniel Flaherty) and Cadie (Britne Oldford) (original version Sid & Cassie). Naturally, Stan has his Michael Cera thing going for him and Cadie, well, she's delicate and absolutely beautiful. The rest of the cast..just animals...it seems..at least at the moment.
But I'll watch. I absolutely fell in love with "My Girls" by Animal Collective in the very first scene. The music is just as much a character to the show as the cast. Oddly, the actress who plays Tony's sister comes off very Hannah Murray.
Eleanor Zichy plays mysterious Eura who is Tony's sister
Hopefully Daniel will make Stanly his own character.
I'm not so sure what's strong about it. Saying that, you probably think I hated this movie. I didn't.
True, most are going to see this film because of gone country Gwenyth Paltrow. And if you go to see her shine, well..you got another thing coming. Actually, she's the weakest link to this whole film.
The true characters of this show are Beau and Chiles. Played respectfully and so sincerely by Garrett Hedlund and Leighton Meester. You would have never thought of Garrett in Tron ..seeing him in this film. And...I think I'm in love with his voice. I know they say it doesn't take much to be a country singer (Hey, Jeff Bridges very well did it in Crazy Heart). Honestly, though..both of them have wonderful voices and I'm glad they shared the stage with a few songs. Leighton is far far away from being Blair on Gossip Girl in this film. It goes to show their are many sides to Meester.
You just gotat love Beau ..a little, yes, he's more than a country song and a singing cowboy. If only they would have let him go without his shirt more(hehehee). And really, when Beau and Chiles hooked up..it was a sweet scene.
And then there is Gwen's Kelly. Oh, just a train wreck who sometimes, yells out of trains. She's on the comback after an awful derail of the country singing life in Dallas. Will she or Won't she?
Beau's figured her out even if he's shared more than songwriting with her in rehab while he's kind of an ass around sweet faced Chiles who Kelly's husband/manager (Tim McGraw) has found for an opening act. Oh, its all a country song..now isn't it?
Yes, Gwen gets a few numbers in and is far to twangy for my concern, but still its Meester and Hedlund who steal the show. And should they? Well, somebody had to, because Paltrow just didn't have what it took, to carry this movie. Its kind of a shame..because she was so lovely in GLEE.
Meester could out do Taylor Swift, anyday. And yes, I would buy a CD of Hedlund's and Meester's songs from this movie. You can find their songs on More songs from Country Strong since they aren't actually on the original soundtrack ..like they should have been. And I don't even like country music, that much. But I hear the two have been taking iTunes by storm.
Too..bad this couldn't have been an indie rock kind of film. I'd so love to see what goes on behind the scenes of a band like Orenda Fink could pull together. On the way home, I listened to her beautiful melodies while in Azure Ray. Well, more about her later.
But if you want to see where country strong really is in this movie, Meester and Hedlund won't let you down.
Trivia: Garrett Hedlund auditioned at a karaoke bar in Koreantown singing a Pearl Jam song. According to the director Shana Feste, "It really wasn't the best showcase ever of his voice, but Garrett went to school for us. Literally, he took four months off and started learning how to play the guitar, took voice lessons, went to Nashville early, started working with Nathan Chapman, a record producer in Nashville who produces Miranda Lambert. I mean, he became a country singer."
Some of us need a vacation from the cold and perhaps ABC's Off the Map will do it for you. It stars that wonderful French-Canadian actress from Wonder Falls, Caroline Dhavernas. If Mami Gummer looks familiar to you..well, she is Meryl Streeps daughter. Also in the cast is Zach Gilford from Friday Night Lights. These three young doctors have come to the jungle to make a new start. The thing is..what jungle..where?
From what I gather...Spanish seems to be the native tongue. Thanks to endearing young actor Jonathan Castellanso, we see the charm of the island (personally, I just thought it the back lot at LOST). Jonathan stared in Southlands. Then there is New Zealand's beautiful Martin Henderson as the residence hunky doctor who will mentor these three along with Valerie Cruz and Jason George.
Last week was the first adventure of the story. There are breath taking landscapes, and possibly some loco locals, but then maybe its these young doctors who are a little crazy. Its hard to say if I find this TV show completely fasinating yet. The main doctors are seen knocking out victims as if that were enough sedatives. And I'm not quite sold on the energies in coconuts.
But its great to see a wonderful cast who are more than just beautiful people. I still think it'll be the writing that makes or breaks this show. If they keep this character driven, I'll be coming back for more to see how Dhavernas' Lily handles herself. I found Gummer and Gilford's characters already a bit whiny.

"I am working night and day down in Costa Mesa, CA on the west coast premier of 2009's "Best New American Play", CIRCLE MIRROR TRANSFORMATION, directed by renowned New York director Sam Gold at Orange County's South Coast Repertory. Were I not in this play, I would still beg you to make the trip to see it. It is unlike any piece of theater I have seen before, and is truly dear to my heart."

Claire is from Buckinghamshire, England. She graduated from Oxford School of Drama in 2007. She made 55 faces of the future by Nylon Magazine's Young Hollywood Issue (May 2010).
A pity she couldn't have been Bella in the Twilight Sega.
Her latest venture in film is in Season of the Witch with Nicholas Cage and Robert Sheehan. Luckily, she got to do the film with long time friend Stephen Campbell Moore who she met while making the TV moive PULSE. She was wonderful in Season of the Witch. She's such a talented actress. They made the film in the Netherlands.
She got her noted start in Little Dorrit(a TV min-series). She can do so much more than Jane Austen fare. Recently, she's turned heads in Upstairs Down Stairs. She is definitely the one to watch this year. I can only hope she makes the right choices and directors everywhere will discover her genuine talent.
You can find my review of Season of the Witch at Mix Tape.
Well, you know how it is...get to high end actors in a movie..and what can you expect. Especially, if a love interest is involved.
Honestly, I'm never been a big fan of Angelina Jolie. And of course, she has some great fashion in the movie, but she's like watching a barbie doll. I did notice she wore gloves in almost every scene.
Storyline : Elise (Angelina Jolie) sits next to an American tourist, Frank (Johnny Depp), on a train going to Venice. She has chosen him as a decoy, making believe that he is her lover who is wanted for police. Not only will they need to evade the police, but also the mobster whose money her lover stole.
Johnny Depp falls flat on the screen as well in this film. He looked sort of puffy too. I dunno, I yawned a couple of times. Sure you got mobsters and a fast boat scenes, gun shots and the like, but it goes in circles after while with all the twist and turns. I will say...a great movie if you are in the cold and snow and want a min-vacation of warmth and European scenery. But the story and the acting..it didn't do much for me.
